1. Eligibility

To maintain fair competition and proper access to rewards, all participants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• By registering, you confirm that:

• You meet the age requirement OR have obtained parental consent.

• You may be asked to provide proof of age or consent if requested.

1.2 Geographic Restriction

• ECT Games is open to both Sri Lankan and International players.

• Sri Lankan players are eligible for leaderboard rankings, rewards (including cash), and public recognition.

• International players are eligible for leaderboard rankings, and digital gift card rewards based on their country, and public recognition.
  (for example, USA players get US PSN Gift Cards, Indian players get Amazon India Gift Cards.)

• Cash rewards are strictly limited to Sri Lankan players only.

1.3 GDevelop Account Requirement

• All participants must have a valid GDevelop account (from https://gd.games/) to track and submit game scores.

• The GDevelop username provided during registration must exactly match the account used for gameplay, or the score will not be counted.

1.4 One Account Per Player

• Each participant is required to register one time only with ECT Games, since the player data will be stored in our database.

1.5 Right to Verify

• ECT Games reserves the right to request verification of:

  • Age

  • Identity

  • Residency

  • GDevelop account ownership

• Failure to provide verification when requested may result in denial of participation or rewards.

2. Registration Requirements

To ensure a smooth and fair experience for all participants, ECT Games requires all users to follow the below registration rules and guidelines:

2.1 Accurate Information

• Participants must complete the official Registration Form provided on the ECT Games website.

• The following information must be entered truthfully and accurately:

  • Full Name

  • Email Address

  • GDevelop Username (must match the actual account used to play)

  • Address

• Inaccurate or misleading information may result in disqualification or inability to receive rewards.

​2.2 Email Responsibility

• The email provided during registration will be used for:

  • Event-related communication

  • Reward distribution

  • Issue resolution

• ECT Games is not responsible if a user provides an incorrect or inaccessible email address.

2.3 Username Validation

• The GDevelop Username must:

  • Be the same as the account used to play the game

  • Be spelled correctly and consistently

  • Be unique to each participant

• If your username does not match during gameplay, your score will not be accepted for the events.

2.4 One-Time Submission

• Once the form is submitted, it cannot be edited or changed.

• If you made a mistake, you must re-submit the form with the correct details, or contact the ECT Games support team immediately via europeancitytech@gmail.com before the event deadline.

2.5 Disqualification Policy

ECT Games reserves the right to reject, suspend, or disqualify any registration that:

• Appears suspicious, fraudulent, or incomplete

• Violates the platform’s fair play or eligibility rules

• Does not meet the above criteria

3. Use of the Platform

By accessing and using the ECT Games platform, participants agree to abide by the following rules and responsibilities regarding gameplay, conduct, and system usage.

3.1 Platform Access

• ECT Games is an online, browser-based platform available through the official website.

• Games are hosted with GDevelop and display the available Games in ECT Games page and may change or rotate based on event schedules.

• No additional software downloads are required, but a GDevelop account login is mandatory to track scores.

3.2 Game Interaction

• Participants may play the available games multiple times, but only the highest valid score will be recorded.

• Games must be played while logged into the GDevelop account provided during registration.

• Avoid refreshing, closing the browser, or navigating away during gameplay, as this may result in lost scores.

​

3.3 System Requirements

• Games are optimized for modern browsers (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

• For best performance, it is recommended to use a desktop or laptop device with a stable internet connection.

• ECT Games is not responsible for performance issues caused by outdated browsers, poor connectivity, or incompatible devices.

3.4 Account Security

• Users are responsible for the security of their GDevelop account and should not share login credentials with others.

• ECT Games is not liable for gameplay errors, lost scores, or misuse resulting from compromised accounts.

3.5 Proper Conduct

While using the ECT Games platform, participants must:

• Refrain from offensive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior on any communication channels (e.g., Discord, chat, forums)

• Not attempt to modify, hack, or reverse engineer any games or platform components

• Respect the game environment and other players' participation

3.6 Technical Limitations & Liability

• ECT Games is not responsible for:

  • Internet interruptions or power outages

  • Incomplete or failed score submissions

  • Bugs or glitches within the GDevelop platform

• If major technical issues occur, ECT reserves the right to pause, cancel, or reschedule an event.

4. Leaderboard & Scoring

The leaderboard system is designed to promote fair and transparent competition.

​

4.1 Score Submission

• Scores are automatically recorded through the player’s GDevelop account upon completing the game.

• Players must be logged into the same GDevelop account that they registered with, or the score will not be counted.

• Only scores recorded during the official event period are valid.

​

4.2 Highest Score Policy

• Participants may play the game multiple times during the event.

• The system will always consider only your highest valid score for leaderboard ranking.

• Lower scores from previous attempts will be automatically disregarded.

​

4.3 Tie-Breaking

In case two or more players achieve the same score:

• The player who reached the score first (based on system timestamp) will be ranked higher.

• If needed, time of registration or gameplay session data may be used as additional tie-breakers.

4.4 Score Visibility

• The leaderboard is updated in real-time or at regular intervals (e.g., every few minutes).

• Player rankings, usernames, and top scores are displayed publicly on the Winners Wall page.

4.5 Invalid or Missing Scores

Scores may be disqualified or not recorded if:

• The user was not logged in to the correct GDevelop account

• The player refreshed or exited the browser during gameplay

• Technical issues occurred on the user's device or browser

• Suspicious or manipulated score data is detected

4.6 Manual Review

• ECT Games reserves the right to review any score manually before declaring winners.

• Suspicious patterns or repeated abnormal scores may lead to score removal or disqualification.

4.7 Leaderboard Reset

• The leaderboard is reset for each new event.

• Scores from past events are archived and do not carry forward.

​

5. Fair Play Policy

At ECT Games, fair competition is our highest priority. All participants are expected to compete with honesty, integrity, and respect for others. The following Fair Play Policy outlines what is and is not acceptable during gameplay.

5.1 No Cheating

• Any attempt to manipulate the game, leaderboard, or scoring system is strictly prohibited.

• Cheating includes (but is not limited to):

  • Using bots, scripts, or automated tools

  • Modifying the game code or browser settings to gain an advantage

  • Exploiting game bugs or loopholes

  • Submitting fake scores or interfering with score tracking

• Players must maintain respectful and appropriate behavior across all ECT Games platforms, including email, Discord, or any official community.

• Abusive language, harassment, or threats toward staff or other participants will lead to removal from the event.

5.3 Technical Exploits

• Players must not intentionally exploit bugs, errors, or technical glitches in the games.

• If you discover a bug, you are expected to report it immediately to europeancitytech@gmail.com rather than use it for advantage.

5.4 Score Monitoring & Investigation

• All top scores are subject to manual review by the ECT Games team.

• If a score is flagged for suspicious activity, it may be removed or hidden pending investigation.

• ECT Games reserves the right to request gameplay proof (e.g., screen recordings) from top-ranking players if necessary.

5.5 Consequences of Violations

Violating the Fair Play Policy may result in:

• Immediate removal from the leaderboard

• Loss of eligibility for current or future rewards

• Temporary or permanent ban from ECT Games events

• Public disqualification listing (if needed to ensure transparency)

5.6 Our Right to Final Decision

All enforcement decisions are at the sole discretion of the ECT Games team. Our goal is to ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable environment for all players.

6. Rewards & Prizes

ECT Games offers rewards as an incentive for skillful and fair competition. The following terms apply to all prize distributions and eligibility.

6.1 Types of Rewards

• Rewards may include (but are not limited to):

  • 💰 Real cash (Only given to Sri Lankan players)

  • Tie-breaker rules (first to reach score, etc.)

• In cases of suspected misconduct, winners may be re-evaluated or disqualified.

• If you are selected as a winner:

  • You must respond within 2 calendar days to claim your reward.

  • You may be asked to confirm your GDevelop account or identity for verification.

6.5 Unclaimed or Rejected Prizes

• If a winner does not respond within 2 days, the prize:

  • May be offered to the next eligible participant

  • Or withheld if no suitable replacement is found

• ECT Games is not responsible for:

  • Delays or failures in receiving the email
